* Infertility for 3 years -- Vaishali B. of Rockaway, NJ (35 yr old) 10/22/12 Two years ago I started fertility treatments due to the lack of poor egg quality and low ovarian reserve. My only option was aggressive medications and ongoing treatment to see if I would produce enough mature eggs to be considered for IVF. Month after month the medication only produced 1-2 mature follicles and I could not proceed to IVF because of the cost and the chances were low that it wouldn't work. That is when I started to read up on other options on how I can balance my body and help stimulate egg growth and good quality. I slept better, I felt better, and by month 2 - I was already producing more follicles double ( 4) then I had prior. I finally after almost a year was ready to go to the next stage – IVF. From those 4 eggs that were retrieved 1 made it and it was the highest grade in quality. I went through another round of retrieval in the hopes to have more than 1 child and again I produced 3 follicles and 1 made it. After all said in done I had one embryo put in and by miracle and the balance of my body the egg SPLIT on its own. I am now the happy mother of identical twins. Through my 3-month journey to find balance and good energy – Ni- Fei made that happen and also respected the IVF process. He was not only my acupuncturist but also a mentor and someone who provided me with good energy. I could remember coming for a visit being very upset and down and leaving a new person every night. This condition has been brought on partially by 50 years of playing the guitar, but mostly related to an impact injury from working with a tool about 5 years ago. In order to continue playing guitar and relieve the discomfort I visited a hand specialist about 5 years ago. I was diagnosed with tendonitis and given 2 cortisone shots over a 3 year period. When I went a year or two ago, Ni-Fei was located near Burnham Park in Morristown, so his location must have moved since then. I hardly know where to begin. When I went to Ni Fei for the first time, I was having terrible headaches and neck pain that I couldn’t figure out. Ni Fei listened to me, and at the end of our first session he patiently answered all of my questions about how long it would take, what he recommended, etc. Over the next few sessions, I noticed that I was starting to feel better most of the time, and whenever I asked Ni Fei about what he was doing, he had insightful explanations-he clearly has a deep understanding and knowledge of acupuncture. His kindness and patience also helped put me at ease with this new experience.My issue was cleared up in about 6 or 7 sessions, and it was well worth it. At the end of 6 sessions he gave me some exercises to do every day that have continued to help me. After this initial set of visits, I had an issue with a cyst that developed. I went to one session with Ni Fei, and the next week when I went for an ultrasound the cyst was completely gone! In my experience with these things, they usually take about a month or two to resolve so the fact that it cleared up so quickly is due to the acupuncture. Lastly, I will say that I have been to another acupuncturist for two visits while I was living in another city. The other acupuncturist, who had tons of published papers and every accreditation possible in the acupuncture community, charged way more, and it became clear that he knew far less than Ni Fei, and was just kind of making things up as he went along. The comparison with this other guy made it even clearer than Ni Fei is an amazing acupuncturist. His methods are simple, traditional, and effective, and he has an excellent grounding in acupuncture and Chinese medicine. Having that success we moved on to a chronic ankle issue of a nerve being pinched. The pain I had been experiencing was a 10 on the 1-10 pain scale. There isn't anything traditional medicine can do to help or stop it. I even went to a chiropractor, and that didn't help. Desperate for relief, I decided to try acupuncture. I was told right up front that there is a 50/50 chance that it could help. I really appreciated the honesty, and decided to take my chances, even though my insurance didn't cover it. For those who never had this type of treatment done, you may be wondering if it's painful. I mean, who would want needles stuck all over their body (in your head, face, neck, feet, arms, etc.?) I sure don't. In fact, I have a phobia of needles. I hate them. Can't even look at them when giving blood. But these needles are thinner, and much, much less painful to what you are use to. Sure, there is a little pinch when they first go in, but after that you can't even feel it. The treatment lasts for about 1/2 hour, give or take, and all you need to do is lay there and relax while listening to peaceful sounds of the ocean. Honestly, I was so relaxed that I almost feel asleep right there on the table! How many doctors visits can you say that about? You are given the options of keeping the lights on or off (I also opted for off), and a heat lamp is placed over your body providing warm therapeutic heat. After the first treatment, I wasn't sure it was working. In fact, the ringing was louder and faster. For me I had 2 layers of ringing. One that sounded like fluorescent lighting, and the other was like someone was trying to tune a radio. It was so annoying and literally driving me crazy. After about the second or third treatment things started to improve. In fact, one layer went away altogether. No more radio! I've had a total of six treatments and have days when the ringing stops for an hour or so. Suffice it to say, the ringing has improved significantly, but hasn't stop entirely. I knew that was a possibility going in, and I don't regret doing it. For those who suffer from this malady, they know any relief is better than no relief at all. Of Brookside (54 yr old) I had 8-10 treatments and my Bells Palsy is completely recovered. Ni- Fei is very considerate , caring and compassionate. Physical therapy got me to able to walk and move better though I needed a next step. I had done acupuncture before for allergies, asthma, and nerve pain so I wanted to give it another go-around. Three months into it and my pain has subsided enough where I am able to live more comfortably. I recommend someone giving it a try if they are unsure, it’s not a quick fix in all instances though there is merit behind the treatments. Ni Fei has both the credentials, experience, and know-how that warrant a 5 star rating. * Back Pinched Nerve --Paul Open. Of Landing I was diagnosed with 3 herniated discs last November 2018. I felt numbness, tingling and throbbing pain in my mid back which was a rare location for herniated discs. In a scale of 1-10 it was pretty much around 7-9. I did physical therapy for 4 months but progress was so slow. I also took medication (Gabapentin 300mg- 3 capsules 3x a day) to reduce inflammation but did not do any significant relief. I was getting frustrated because I had stop running as I was training for triathlons. I thought of having some kind of alternative treatment so I was referred by my doctor to Ni-Fei. Two weeks into the treatment my back started feeling a lot better. Fast forward to the present I really had a significant improvement. The intensity of the pain and frequency has lowered down a lot to the point that I could barely feel the symptoms. I'm back into running and doing triathlons and my back never felt this strong. Because my hormones were out-of-sync I had developed a 3 cm cyst on my left ovary. This was causing discomfort on a daily basis but especially during menstruation. Nei-Fei treated me for the cyst.
